The ministry of St Peter & St Paul's has historic links with the Abolitionist Movement of the 19th Century. There is an enclosure and barn next the churchyard, should you ever visit the fair and take a stroll towards the church you just might be meet the Shetland Ponies who live there peacefully, grazing the grass and delighting the few who pass this way.
